Privacy Policy

Last updated October 29, 2026. This policy explains what personal information Clearcut Studio handles, why, and the choices available to you.

Who we are

Clearcut Studio (getclearcutstudio.com) is operated by LimeWorks Digital Inc., a company registered in Ontario, Canada (“LimeWorks Digital”, “we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy and handle it in line with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

How your images are processed

Standard modes (Auto, Portrait and Product): images are processed locally in your web browser. We do not upload, view or store your source images or the transparent images you create. To run in your browser, the background-removal software and AI model files are downloaded from third-party content delivery and model hosting services; those services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address when the files are downloaded.

Best hair (Clearcut Pro, optional): if you choose Best hair and agree to cloud processing, each selected photo is sent securely through our server to a third-party image-processing provider to create the cutout. Clearcut Studio does not store these photos or results. The provider may retain processed images and use them to improve its service under its own terms. If you do not want this, use Auto, Portrait or Product mode, which keep your images on your device.

Information we collect

  • Account information: if you create an account or sign in, we receive your email address and name. If you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google shares your name and email address with us.
  • Subscription information: your plan, subscription status, billing period and related Stripe or PayPal customer and subscription identifiers.
  • Support messages: your email address and anything you include when you contact us.
  • Technical information: our hosting and security services may automatically log your IP address, browser type, device information, pages requested, timestamps and security events.

Payments

Clearcut Pro checkout, recurring billing and subscription management are provided by Stripe (cards) or PayPal, depending on how you choose to pay. We never receive or store your full card number or your PayPal login details. Stripe and PayPal process payment, billing, tax and fraud-prevention information under their own privacy policies.

How we use information

  • Provide the service, your account and your subscription.
  • Process payments, renewals and cancellations.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Keep the service secure, prevent fraud and fix problems.
  • Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure, and browser storage to remember preferences such as light or dark mode. Payment pages provided by Stripe or PayPal may set their own cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

Service providers

We share information only with service providers that help us run Clearcut Studio, such as our web host, Stripe and PayPal for payments, Google for optional sign-in, our email provider and, for the optional Best hair feature, a cloud image-processing provider. We share only what is needed for those purposes. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

How long we keep information

We keep account and subscription information while your account is active and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting, dispute and security purposes. Support emails are kept as long as reasonably needed to help you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing support@getclearcutstudio.com. You can also clear your browser storage at any time. Some records, such as payment records, may need to be kept to meet legal obligations.

Children

Clearcut Studio is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not use it. Users under 18 should have permission from a parent or guardian, who must make any purchase.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be shown on this page.
