Are my images uploaded?
Not in the standard modes. Auto, Portrait and Product run in your browser, so your photos stay on your device. Best hair (Pro) sends each photo to our secure cloud partner, only after you agree. Clearcut Studio does not store it, but our partner may keep processed images under its own terms, so use a standard mode for anything private.
Which file types are supported?
You can select JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Finished images are exported as transparent PNG files.
Why does the first image take longer?
Your browser must download and prepare the AI model the first time. It may be cached by your browser, making later sessions faster.
What is Maximum quality?
Maximum quality uses a larger model that can preserve more edge detail, but it needs more memory and processing time than the recommended High quality mode.
Will every background be removed perfectly?
No AI editor is perfect. Complex hair, low contrast, transparency, motion blur, shadows, and crowded scenes can affect the result. Always inspect the comparison before use.
Is Clearcut Pro unlimited?
Yes, for browser processing. While your subscription is active, there is no image quota in Auto, Portrait and Product modes. Best hair, which uses our secure cloud for curly and frizzy hair, is included for up to 25 images a day. Browser processing speed and batch size depend on your computer’s processor and memory.
Can I remove several backgrounds together?
Yes. Clearcut Pro lets you add many images to a queue, apply one new background to the whole batch, pause and continue with Stop and Start, and download every result together as a ZIP file.
Does it work on mobile?
The interface is responsive, but large AI models work best on a modern desktop or laptop with sufficient memory.
Is the background remover free?
Yes. The Free plan lets you remove the background from one image at a time and download it as a transparent PNG. If you regularly edit many photos, Clearcut Pro adds a batch queue, ZIP downloads and maximum-detail processing.
What can I use the transparent PNGs for?
Transparent PNGs work almost anywhere: product photos for Shopify, Etsy or Amazon listings, profile pictures, YouTube thumbnails, social media posts, presentations, flyers and print-on-demand designs. Because the background is fully removed, you can place your subject on any colour, pattern or new photo in tools like Canva, Photoshop or PowerPoint.
